Mid-size PE dies.We build what comes next.
Private equity industry is polarizing. Mega-funds survive through scale. Small, AI-native funds survive through efficiency. Nothing will remain in the middle.
The industry will split into two groups.
Giants — Blackstone, KKR, Apollo. Scale is their moat. They can afford armies of analysts, proprietary deal access, in-house AI labs. No one will push them out of the big-ticket segment.
Small, AI-native PE firms — Point FM among them. We operate in segments below the radar of the giants, where scale isn't an advantage but a drag. Our edge is speed and tooling a mid-size fund would never build — because it would run against its cost structure.
Mid-size PE is squeezed from both sides.
It can't afford rebuilding to AI-native. It carries a cost structure from the 2010s — expensive teams, expensive fundraising, expensive reporting. But it doesn't have the scale to absorb it. In the next five years it either gets acquired by a giant or disappears.
Our bet:
Stay small. AI-native. Play deep in segments under 150M CZK valuations. Software works, humans decide.
PFM Scout
Internal intelligence layer for sourcing and first-pass scoring. Built from scratch by the Point FM team.
Scout does three things: scans the market, scores companies against our thesis, generates investment hypotheses.
01 — Sourcing
Crawls public registries, financial data, and market signals. Currently tracking 500+ companies in active scoring. Most funds spend 70 % of their time on screening. We spend less than 20 %.
02 — Scoring & rescoring
Loads new signals and hypotheses into the knowledge base every day — from Michael Burry to Warren Hellman and Ryan Cohen. Recalculates valuations in the scoring dashboard daily. Surfaces unusual hypotheses a human team wouldn't catch.
03 — Decision support
Doesn't make the final call — that's mine. Expands the space in which I make it.
PFM Manager
Operational audit for portfolio companies. Scans world-class playbooks and sends concrete recommendations — pricing changes, GTM moves, hiring patterns — directly to the portfolio company's CEO.

PFM Reporter
Real-time reporting for investors. No quarterly PDFs. Continuous transparency — financial metrics, portfolio updates, investment thesis tracking. Standard for Point FM investors, not premium.
In progress
This isn't all of it. We keep building — internal tools, integrations, automation.
Software works, humans decide.
